Nora Bonavera was born and educated in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, where she worked as an international fashion model for many years.
She lived with her husband in Monaco and Paris and eventually moved to South Africa in 1983, where she studied Italian and Linguistics at UNISA. Her painting career started after completing art courses at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. Several successful solo exhibitions (The Wedgwood Gallery) and several group exhibitions followed over the years.
After her children left home she spent a few years sailing in the Caribbean and then divided her time between Cape Town, Lake Como and Monaco. She eventually chose to settle in Monaco, loving its international and unique atmosphere combined with the happy presence of sunlight.
Light, happiness, movement, emotions, soul channellings and universal influences all play a part in her work, which is exuding liveliness with its bright colors.
